Up in the misty mountains of Robertson, Jamberoo Mountain Farm is a family-run operation focused on ethical, regenerative farming and truly pasture-raised eggs and beef. Their commitment to sustainability shapes everything they do, so when a simple switch to the Unibox Feeding System cut their feeding time from 60 minutes to just 20, it meant more time for what matters most: caring for their animals and the land.

Customer: Nicole Feggans
Business:  Jamberoo Mountain Farm
Industry:  Ethical, sustainable producer of premium pasture-raised eggs and beef
Location:  Mountains of Robertson NSW
Product:  Unibox

The Challenge

Feeding 1,800 pasture-raised chickens and a herd of cattle meant Nicole was constantly on the move. Every day involved multiple tractor trips back and forth from the silo, navigating uneven ground, and spending close to an hour per feeder just to keep everyone fed. It was time-consuming, physically tiring, and placed heavy strain on both labour and machinery; a cycle many farmers know all too well.

  • Around 60 minutes spent per feeder , stretching feeding into long daily sessions.
  • Multiple tractor trips from the silo to each paddock, increasing fuel use and wear.
  • Hard physical work across rough terrain, making feeding tiring and difficult to manage solo.
  • Limited time left for other essential farm jobs, adding stress and pressure to each day.

The Solution

By integrating the Unibox into their feeding setup, Jamberoo Mountain Farm transformed a slow, repetitive feeding process into a streamlined, high-efficiency routine. The larger capacity, easy tractor handling, and reduced refill trips meant Nicole could feed more animals in less time, with less fuel and far less effort.

  • Replaced multiple bucket loads with one large Unibox load, drastically reducing trips from the silo.
  • Increased feed capacity per run, allowing Nicole to service more feeders in one go.
  • Simplified handling with safer, more stable movements across uneven terrain.
  • Enabled true one-person feeding , even on busy days, without slowing down operations.

The Result

Feeding is now completed in just 20 minutes per feeder, giving Nicole back hours each week that were once lost to long feeding rounds. The time saved means she can focus more on her animals, stay on top of pasture rotation, and finish the day with more energy to spare. The reduced strain on her body, her machinery, and her schedule has made daily feeding far more manageable; something any farmer with big, repetitive feeding jobs will instantly recognise. Instead of racing the clock, Nicole now has a routine that works with her, not against her.

  • 40 minutes saved per feeder, now 3 times faster
  • Lower fuel consumption due to fewer tractor trips
  • Reduced labour and mechanical wear thanks to fewer trips and lighter strain on equipment.
  • More time for important jobs, including animal care, pasture management, planning, and maintenance.
  • Less pressure at the end of the day, making it easier to balance farm work with family life.

For Nicole, the biggest change hasn’t just been faster feeding, it’s also the breathing room that has been created. With more time at home and less pressure at the end of the day, she’s found a better rhythm between the demands of the farm and the needs of her family. The reduced rush, lighter workload, and smoother routine have made it easier to end each day feeling accomplished rather than exhausted, bringing a sense of balance that can be hard to come by in busy farming seasons.

“Instead of countless trips to and from the silo, it was only two, and instead of 60 minutes per feeder, it took 20. Sometimes we make a change on the farm and I think, why didn’t we do this sooner?!”

A huge thank you to Nicole for sharing her thoughts and offering an honest look into the realities of regenerative farming.
